Beit Romano Magazine
Studio typographic formats extended content
In this project, we were tasked with creating a magazine related to Beit Romano in Tel Aviv. We chose a theme that takes place at Beit Romano, and I chose food and art. The magazine is focused on typography and branding. I drew inspiration from the fact that most things at Beit Romano are done manually, not digitally, such as the handwritten menus at the Romano restaurant, with the goal of combining high and low aesthetics. Therefore, the concept for the magazine involved using techniques like scanning, crumpling the paper, and reopening it. This way, I created a new font that is slightly different and random each time, with small fragments around the letters resembling food crumbs as a result of the scanning. The same technique was used for the images in the magazine, creating a new image each time. Additionally, I scanned and moved vegetables, resulting in a new vegetable that looked like a piece of art. I experimented a lot and learned about typography, branding, and how everything integrates together.
